Hermes reopens its redesigned and extended flagship store on Bond Street. Calabash continue looking after their cleaning.
Hermes London store opened in 1975 within the ground floor of the iconic Time & Life building on the corner of New Bond Street and Bruton Street. This year, on its 40th anniversary, Hermes welcomes customers into a beautifully redesigned retail experience.
Following a nine month renovation and doubling its size to 673 m2, the remastered store has added another level with menswear and scarves on ground and everything from a dedicated shoe salon, leather goods, writing implements, stationery, fragrances and womenswear on level one.
The bustling spirit of the street coupled with the attachment of our British clients to our craftsmanship and unrivalled quality, but also a shared sense of wit and love of light-heartedness gives a special dynamism to Hermès in London.
Axel Dumas, Hermès International CEO
Highlights of the renovation include a sweeping, curved staircase of polished Venetian plaster, new spaces revealing original design features listed by English Heritage and a unique “Reclining Figure” sculpture by Henry Moore, never before shown in public. Another key element of the metamorphosis undergone by the store is the homewares department – a stunning double-height six-metre high space which faces out onto a grand, topiary-lined courtyard and Moore’s sculpture.
In order to maintain the essence and quality with which Hermes are renowned, Calabash are proud to have once again been retained to look after the detailed store cleaning and other subsidiary services (i.e. six days a week cleaning, window cleaning, waste collection/recycling and washroom hygiene services) not only in their Bond Street store but also on Sloane Street, in Royal Exchange and in the concessions in Harrods and Selfridges.
Retail is detail. We are therefore delighted Hermes has chosen Calabash to continue providing our thorough retail cleaning service for their beautiful remastered store on Bond Street, plus their other outlets in London.
Julian Hill, Chairman, Calabash Group
We are proud that Hermes is among the leading names on Bond Street (Boodles, DKNY, Patek Philippe, Loro Piana, Polo Ralph Lauren) who choose Calabash to look after the exacting detail of retail cleaning.
